Welcome to the official website of the 2014 Pittsburgh Biennial; the largest survey of regional contemporary art. Beginning in July, seven organizations are partnering in this unique event that amplifies the most compelling artists and the distinct venues that make up our diverse art scene.
“The partnering organizations play a major part in making this region a dynamic incubator for art,” states Laura Domencic, Director of the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. “The 2014 Biennial unites their support for artists of this region. It celebrates the artists’ work, and each venues’ mission, with a larger audience.”
The 2014 Pittsburgh Biennial kicks off with a solo presentation featuring the photographic work of Corey Escoto at the Carnegie Museum of Art July 18. More information on the opening of this show can be found on the ‘Special Events’ page.
