Andrew Allison

Pittsburgh Center for the Arts

Andrew W. Allison creates sculptural installations using hand made, mixed media objects that imply events, emotions, memories or personal associations. The work focuses on the intangible relationships between our objects and our perceptual memories. The uncanny and the familiar co-mingle in an open environment.

A mixed media artist born in Wichita Kansas and raised in Pittsburgh, Andrew William Allison graduated with his MFA from the Minneapolis College of art in Design in 2013. Allison began drawing at a young age in order to engage with his experiences with night terrors and to also explore his preoccupation with insects.
