Barbara Luderowski, President & Co-Director

Barbara Luderowski is Board President and is the museum’s founding Director. Luderowski founded the Mattress Factory in 1977 and now shares Co-Directorship with Michael Olijnyk. She is responsible for guiding and refining the museum’s artistic vision and marshaling the resources needed to achieve its goals. As the President and Co-Director, Luderowski directs capital projects, fundraising activities, policy planning and initiatives, and provides guidance on day-to-day operations.

Luderowski studied at the Art Students League, New York; Cranbrook Academy of Art, Michigan; and Carnegie Tech, Pittsburgh. She has exhibited her sculpture throughout the United States, and her work is included in numerous public and private collections, including the University of Pittsburgh’s Hillman Library, Westinghouse Corporation and the Wadsworth Atheneum.
